How the Referral Works
Four steps, and two of them may mean you do not need us.
The quick answer
Press the reset button first. It costs us calls and settles a fair number of them without anybody visiting, which is the test of whether a site like this is worth reading. Households pay nothing, and the contractor taking the call is the one who pays.
Establish who owns it
Owner-occupied, or rented. In a rental the disposal is generally the landlord's fixture and the repair is theirs to arrange.
Try the two free things
The reset button if it is silent. The hex key if it hums. Between them those account for a large share of disposal complaints and neither costs anything.
Or call, and we route you
The number on this site connects you to an independent contractor covering your area. We pass on what you tell us. We do not quote, schedule or supervise the work.
Or do not
If the smell went with a clean guard, or the jam freed with a hex key, there is nothing to route. Saying so costs us a call and keeps the contractor's day for jobs that are real.
Pushed the reset button already? Then it is worth a contractor rather than another ten minutes with a hex key. Tell us what it is doing — silent, humming, leaking or smelling — and we will route you. Free to you, always. Anything wanting a plumber can be said on the call.
